Scouring the net for a few ideas for my pirate crew and here is what I found:

Going to try and make the pirates look like a unified crew unlike the brotherhood who are all in different schemes as befits the fact most of them are loners

Colour Charts and picking Colours

Hi guys. Whilst not at the club tonight, i thought I would slap something on the blog for ToG. Choosing colours is one of the basic starting blocks of painting a force /army/faction.

I tend to go for contrasting armies so thought I would chuck a good page that looks at colours and contrasts for a theme that you might be thinking of -

Goblin Gribblies

Since my Goblins will be ordered en masse in September, I thought I would start to gather some images I could use to help on the Giant Crabs and Octopus that two of specialists wield.
Note the purpleness of them. My wife will be happy ...

Pre tog stuff but thought I'd post up some pics of my brotherhood crew as they stand right now. Not including the ones I bought already painted!

Ideas and Inspirations - Films edition.

In order to get any creative juices flowing, you need some kind of reference. This version of I&I is based on films. Please add more if you can think of any.

• Aliens - because its Aliens and must be in every film list ever. Including Rom-Coms.

• Pirates of the Caribbean - basically why this game was created. I think for Freebooters, the last and first one which are less fantastically and silly.
• Apocalypto - Amazons
• The Fountain - Although it does have Hugh Jackman doing yoga in a spherical invisible spaceship with a tree - it does have Incas and Conquistadors. The advantage of this film is that you can watch it with the missus and pretend you're more high brow than you are.
• Cutthroat Island - Geena Davis as a pirate captain. Its dumb and fun.
• Brotherhood of the Wolf - this is for you Brotherhood players and Imperial Armada (to a point). Things to note about this film. 1. its french. 2. It has Monica Belluci in it as an assassin / Brothel Madame. 3. it has some ropey special effects but it is 4. A cross between the Matrix and Dangerous Liasons. It'll make you look highbrow.
• Labyrinth - For the Goblins

Thats all I can think of this lunchtime. I may add some more bits later.

I thought I would make a start by base coating my Amazons so that they're ready to start receiving the tips of my Windsor and Newtons on the 1st of July. I thinned down some Palid Wych Flesh from the Citadel paint range, loaded up my Iwata air brush and gave them a good blasting:
